Cards and colors
Digimon attack, eggs hatch, Tamers support, Options swing the turn. Red hits, blue strips stacks, yellow heals security, green digivolves faster.
A Digimon card is the attacker and the blocker. The system page numbers six fields on it: DP, play cost, digivolve cost, effects, traits, and the inherited effect that can fire once the card is stacked under a digivolution.

Four card types
| Type | Job on the page |
|---|---|
| Digimon | Attack the player, fight with DP, carry inherited effects when stacked. |
| Digi-Egg | Hatches from the breeding area. The egg deck is 5 cards or fewer. |
| Tamer | Support. Examples named: gain memory, draw cards. |
| Option | A one-shot that changes the battle. |
Play cost moves memory toward the opponent by that number. Digivolve cost is what you pay to stack onto a Digimon. Traits cover form, attribute, and type.
Six colors
| Color | What the page says that color is for |
|---|---|
| Red | Offense: DP increases, Security Attack +, and similar. |
| Blue | Technical plays, including trashing the opponent's digivolution cards. |
| Yellow | Recover your security stack and lower the opponent's DP. |
| Green | Lower digivolve cost so you digivolve sooner. |
| Black | Defense, including Blocker and Reboot. |
| Purple | Delete cards, or trash cards from hand. |
Each color also has its own digivolution requirements. Deck construction — 50 cards, 4 copies — is on decks and turns.
The [BD-01] trailer names Gemmon, Rubeusdramon, and Kanata Hondo as new cards in that set, beside Agumon, WarGreymon, and Tai Kamiya. It does not give those cards' DP or effects.
